Student Information Campus Life Specific policies applying to the carious areas of life on the campus and residence halls are in the student handbook, which will be given to each student upon arrival. Students will find that the rules are reasonable and necessary for successful Christian living while enrolled in Commonwealth Baptist College.
A wide variety of social activities allows the students to get to know each other and to build lasting friendships. College is always a wonderful experience for those who are involved and dedicated to the college program.
Soul winning - Activities for personal soul winning take place each week. Students at Commonwealth Baptist College are required to go soul winning for a minimum of three hours each week. Private Devotions - The whole purpose of Bible college will be defeated if students do not maintain their own personal walk with the Lord through Bible reading and prayer. Chapel - Attendance at chapel is required. Students will thoroughly enjoy the chapel services at Commonwealth Baptist College. The student will view chapel services as an opportunity to receive encouragement, fellowship, and a challenge from the Word of God. Christian Service - Students will have the opportunity to work on bus routes, teach Sunday School classes, help in tent meetings, participate in the music ministry, etc. Each of these opportunities will be under administrative supervision. Food Service - Dormitory students will have three meals prepared for them each day during the week. Dormitories Commonwealth Baptist College requires that all single men and women live in dormitories except those living with their parents or those with written permission from the Administration. All students will need to carry a minimum course load of 12 hours each semester in order to live in the dormitories. Appliances such as televisions, head phones, hot plates, popcorn poppers and other cooking devices are not permitted. Radios, lamps, fans, sewing machines, computers, hair dryers, and electric razors may be used in the dormitories. Students are welcome to bring some items to decorate their rooms to make them comfortable. Married couples are both permitted and encouraged to participate in as many groups and organizations as they can. Of course, married students have the same chapel, church, and class attendance rules and requirements as do dormitory students.
