Degree Descriptions

DIPLOMA

The General Bible Studies diploma requires the completion of the Freshman Core Curriculum plus four (4) additional credits in Bible or Practical Theology.

ASSOCIATE DEGREE

An Associate Degree requires the completion of 64 credit hours as approved by the College Administration.

BACHELORS DEGREE

 A Bachelors Degree requires the completion of 128 credit hours as described in the catalog and approved by the College Administration.

FRESHMAN CORE CURRICULUM

Associate of Science
General Education

This course of study is designed to be a foundation for the student who plans to teach in the Christian school but is undecided about majoring in Elementary Education or Secondary Education.  This program will also provide solid Bible and Academic training for ladies who are not necessarily interested in a four year degree, but would like to be better equipped for marriage and family life.  All credits earned in this program can be directly applied to the four year degrees in the Education Department.  Many, but not all of the credits earned in this program can be directly applied to the other four year degrees that are not in the Education Department.

Pastoral Theology

Bachelor of Science in Bible
Pastoral Assistant

This major is prescribed for men who want to pursue the position of an assistant pastor, youth director, bus director, music director or a similar ministry in the local church.  Students who select this course of study must choose one of the following fields of specialty, requiring a minimum of 12 hours: Church Ministry, Music Ministry or Education.  Upon completion of this course, the degree of Bachelor of Science will be awarded with a Pastoral Assistant Major.  Listed below are only the Junior and Senior year courses.  Students who enroll in the Pastoral Assistant major will be required to complete the courses listed under the Associate of Science in Bible program during their Freshman and Sophomore years.

Bachelor of Science in Bible
Missions

The Missions major is designed for students who have surrendered their lives for full-time service as missionaries.  Men students will complete a well-rounded Bible course of study with an emphasis in missionary methods and the ministry on the field.  The missionary student will be taught that his work will include winning souls, planting churches, and training the nationals.  Upon completion of this course, the student will receive a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Missions.  Students who enroll in the Missions major will be required to complete the courses listed under the Associate of Science in Bible program during their Freshman and Sophomore years.

Secondary Education

This major is for students who wish to teach in the Christian school on the high school level or above.  Secondary Education majors are required to select two teaching fields comprised of 18 hours in one's major and 14 hours in one's minor.  Upon completion of this course of study, the degree of Bachelor of Science is awarded  Listed below are only the Junior and Senior year courses.  Students who enroll in the Secondary Education major will be required to complete the courses listed under the Associate of Science - General Education program during their Freshman and Sophomore years.

Private Music Lessons

Prerequisites

Private lessons require the permission of the instructor.  Enrollment in private lessons is a privilege.  If, in the opinion of the instructor, a student lacks proper commitment to his lessons, the teacher shall consult the Dean of Students to determine whether continuation in private lessons will be allowed.

Practice

 

Practice

Students are required to practice the amount of hours each week as determined by his instructor up to a maximum of five hours per week.

 

Seminars

In addition to the private lesson itself, the teacher may conduct occasional seminars with selected students who are working on similar material.

 

Recital

At the instructor's discretion, a recital may be substituted for the final examination in certain private lessons.

 

Cost

The cost for private music lessons is to be arranged between pupil and instructor.  The cost for private lessons is not included in the tuition.
