How We Started

How We Started

In September of 1999, what began as a burden in the heart of Pastor Jeff Fugate to train servants for God’s harvest field, became a reality with the founding of Commonwealth Baptist College. Dr. Fugate has a burden to start independent fundamental Baptist churches all across America, including a goal of starting 50 churches in the state of Kentucky alone. Over the years Pastor Fugate has lead the Clays Mill Baptist Church in helping to host revival meetings, revive the bus ministry, encourage existing churches, and start new churches.

For almost two decades, Commonwealth Baptist College has provided a place for young people to prepare themselves to serve the Lord with their lives. With a primary emphasis on God’s Word and solid Bible standards, Commonwealth Baptist College also provides a quality academic program offering an array of courses intended to help young people prepare for their specific areas of service. The desire of the Commonwealth Baptist College faculty and staff is to train Christian leaders for the next generation.
