Bachelor of Science Degrees (click on each major to view classes)

This course of study is for men who believe God has called them to preach and possibly pastor a church. Upon completion of this program, the degree of Bachelor of Science will be awarded with a major in Pastoral Theology.

This program is prescribed for men who believe God would have them serve as an assistant pastor, youth director, bus director, or music director in the local church. Students in this program must choose one of the following areas of concentration, requiring a minimum of eight course hours: Church Ministry, Music Ministry, or Education. Upon completion of this program, the degree of Bachelor of Science will be awarded with a major in Pastoral Assistant.

The Missions program is designed for male students who have surrendered their lives for full-time service as missionaries. These young men will complete a well-rounded Bible course of study with an emphasis in missionary methods and the ministry on the field. The missionary student will be taught that his work will include winning souls, planting churches, and training the nationals. Upon completion of this program, the student will receive a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Missions.

The Missions Education major is a four-year program leading to a Bachelor of Science Degree. The curriculum is designed to prepare young ladies for missionary service. The program comprises essential courses focused on Missions, such as Introduction to Missions, Missionary Relations, and Customs and Cultures. Additionally, a specialized course on the role of the Missionary Wife is included. In addition to the Missions aspect of the Major, students will take most of the courses for the Elementary Education major so that they will be prepared to teach their own children and the children of others while on the field.

This major is for female students who plan to teach in the Christian school on the elementary level. Upon completion of this course, the young ladies will receive a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Elementary Education.

The Secondary Education program is for students who wish to teach in the Christian school on the junior high school level or above. Secondary Education majors are required to select two teaching fields comprised of 18 hours each. Upon completion of this course of study, the student will receive a Bachelor of Science degree.

The music department of Commonwealth Baptist College is designed to impart practical musical skills to dedicated musicians who will serve the Lord in Independent Fundamental Baptist churches and schools. Upon completion of this program, the student will receive a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Music Education.

This program is designed to train ladies for full-time Christian service as secretaries. This is a four-year program and, upon completion, a Bachelor of Science degree in Secretarial Science will be awarded.

This four-year program is designed to give students a well-rounded approach and a Bible-based overview to Christian Service.  

Master of Science in Christian Ministry
Each semester, these students will average taking eight credits of courses in the classroom as well as receive eight credits for ministry internship. Students in the intern program will be assigned to a staff member at Clays Mill Baptist Church or one of its ministries. These students will attend staff meetings and learn the organization of that ministry from his assigned leader.

Associate Certificate in Education/Office Administration
The Associate of Science Program
For ladies desiring basic college-level training but will not be completing a four-year college degree. These students must choose one of two areas of study – General Education or Office Administration. Each program will require thirty-nine credits of “Required Non-Major Specific Courses.” Students must then take the twenty-five remaining credits in their chosen area of concentration. The required courses in this two-year program will prepare students for places of service in Christian ministries. At completion, the student will receive an Associate of Science diploma.

One Year Bible Diploma
This program is limited to applicants who have considerable experience in the ministry and/or educational background and they desire to return to school for a brief time to enhance their training and Bible knowledge.

Admission to the One Year Bible program will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the administration. The program itself will consist of specialized courses structured by the administration to best meet the needs of the individual student.
